Alessandro Carlucci

Alessandro Carlucci has extensive experience in the retail and consumer industries.

Mr. Carlucci is currently board Chair of Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), a global non-profit business network and consultancy dedicated to sustainability.  It is his strong belief that the best way to do business is to integrate economic, social and environmental aspects of a company which, in turn, generates greater value for all stakeholders.  He is also Chair of the Brazilian shoemaker, Arezzo & Co. Previously, Mr. Carlucci worked for 25 years at Natura Cosmetics, covering a number of different departments and working in several countries.  He spent the last 10 years at Natura as its CEO.  During his tenure as CEO, Natura grew fourfold.  At the same time, it reduced its relative CO2 emissions by 33 percent and, by offsetting its emissions, became a carbon-neutral company. Previously, Mr. Carlucci was a board member of Renner, a major fashion retailer in Brazil, a member of the Advisory Board of Itaú-Unibanco and a member of the board of the Alcoa Advisory Board Latin America.  He also served as board Chair at the World Federation Direct Selling Association.
