David Holtze

David Holtze is a seasoned financial operator and business transformation strategist with leadership experience spanning both the financial services and professional services sectors. In his most recent role as Global Vice Chair of Finance and CFO at EY, Mr. Holtze led all finance related activities including investments, treasury, and tax for the $35 billion revenue organization. Mr. Holtze serves on the Board of EisnerAmper and on the Supervisory Committee of EPSA, both TowerBrook portfolio companies.

During his time in Senior Leadership at EY, Mr. Holtze was consistently chosen as a key advisor to and operational lead for major strategic initiatives working in close partnership with Global Chairman and CEO.  He was a member of EY’s Global Executive board, the Global Operating Committee, and the Global Markets and Investment Committee.  During his tenure as Global Vice Chair of Finance and CFO, EY’s global revenue grew by $9 billion, and Mr. Holtze was instrumental in leading several major business transformation efforts to support the firm’s global growth.  Among those initiatives, he worked as a member of the team to develop EY’s Vision 2020 strategy, served as executive sponsor and lead for a 160-country, global SAP implementation, and executed a major shift of EY’s service delivery and enablement functions through the use of shared services via EY’s 25,000-person Global Delivery Network with locations in India, Argentina, Poland, China and the Philippines.  Mr. Holtze joined Ernst & Young in 1981 and ascended through several leadership positions in both the US and internationally.  Prior to his 2014 appointment as Global Vice Chair of Finance, he served as the Global Vice Chair of Tax, where he led the $8 billion, 35,000-person Tax practice.  He was tapped by EY’s CEO for his first global role in 2008, when he relocated to London to serve as Global COO for Tax.  Before moving to the UK, Mr. Holtze spent nine years in New York, where he was CFO and later appointed COO for the Americas’ Tax practice.  He earlier was the Midwest Region Tax Leader based in Minneapolis, and has also served as Tax Account Leader and Senior Advisory Partner on many large clients, with a particular focus on Banking and Asset Management.  Mr. Holtze is a member of the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management’s Board of Overseers, and was named the University of Wisconsin Accounting and Information Systems department’s 2007 Distinguished Accounting Alumnus.
