Barbara Kux

Barbara Kux is a highly experienced Board member with longstanding international Executive and Non-Executive experience in leading green tech, energy, healthcare, consumer goods and digital technology companies.

Ms. Kux began her career as a Management Consultant at McKinsey in Germany. In 2008, she became the first woman to be appointed to the Managing Board of Siemens, where she increased the results from green businesses and supply chains by several billion Euros, something she had also achieved in her previous role as a member of Group Management at Royal Philips. Previously, she held leadership roles at Nestle and ABB, where she established businesses in the new markets of Central and Eastern Europe. As a member of the SDSN Leadership Council for the United Nations she contributed to the definition of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Ms. Kux has been nominated to the High Level Panel for Decarbonisation Pathways by The EU Commission and is a Juror for the Digital Award The Spark in Germany.

She acts as Member of the Supervisory Board, the Nomination und the newly established Sustainability Committee of Henkel as well as of the Advisory Board of INSEAD, the Max Schmidheiny Stiftung and the University of Zurich. Previous Board of Director’s mandates were with TotalEnergies and with Firmenich as Vice Chairman. Fortune Magazine has ranked her repeatedly as a leading international businesswoman and she has been named as one of the 50 INSEAD Alumni who have changed the world. Ms. Kux earned her MBA with distinction from INSEAD.
