Giuseppe Lavazza

Giuseppe Lavazza is Vice Chair and Director of Luigi Lavazza S.p.A., the company behind the Lavazza coffee brand.

Mr. Lavazza is the fourth generation of the Lavazza family to head up the company which was started in 1895 by his great grandfather. Mr. Lavazza has held the position of Vice Chair since 2008 following three years as Strategic Marketing Director.  He joined the Board of Directors in 1991 then moved back to Turin from London where he had been working in the commodities business for Phillip Brothers.  Mr. Lavazza is Board Member of the Giuseppe and Pericle Lavazza Foundation, which develops international sustainability projects in coffee-growing countries, while also striving to support initiatives in the fields of health, social care, and protection of the environment both in Italy and abroad.  Mr. Lavazza is a member of the Steering Committee of International Coffee Partners and co-Chair of the Coffee & Climate project, whose aim is to identify new strategies to mitigate the impact of climate change on the entire coffee industry, as well as encourage sharing of good agricultural practices.  He is Group Vice President and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Colombia in Turin.
