Daniel Bernard

Daniel Bernard has extensive experience in the retail industry. He is a member of the board of EPSA, GSF, Izipizi, JJA, La Maison Bleue, Sabena Technics, Sateba, Talan and Uperio, all TowerBrook portfolio companies. Previously, he served on the Board of OVHcloud, a TowerBrook portfolio company, and as Chair of former TowerBrook companies, Kaporal and Van Geloven.

Mr. Bernard is President of Provestis. He is also a member of the Board of HEC Paris, having previously held the position of President of the HEC Foundation from 2008 to 2014. From 2009 to 2017 Mr. Bernard held the position of Chair of Kingfisher Plc and from 2010 to 2015, was Chair of the Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) Retail Group, in Dubai. Previously, Mr. Bernard was Vice President of the Board of Capgemini and member of the Supervisory Board of the PSA. Prior to that he was Chair and CEO of the Carrefour Group after being a member of the Board and COO of Metro International. He is a former member of the board of Alcatel-Lucent and Saint-Gobain. Mr. Bernard has received a number of distinguished awards throughout his career including Officier de l’Ordre National du Mérite (France), Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur (France), Commandeur de l’ordre de Rio Branco (Brazil) and Grande Croix de l’Ordre du Congrès (Colombia). He was elected Manager of the Year 1995, HEC of the Year 1996 and Strategist of the Year 2000. Also in 2000, he has been elected Best Global Retailer by the National Retail Federation of the USA.
